First, we must make apologies. Our goal is to put out our prayer
letter monthly, with it going out the first Friday of each month. There were plenty of things to pray for last
month…but the prayer letter that was in our hearts and minds did not make it
onto our computer, and therefore didn’t make it to yours. We will try better in the future! So as a token of our regret, you get this one
a little early!
*Also,
please note that we do have a cellphone number for while we are in the
States. Please e-mail us if you need
that number.
Hitting the ground running…
We truly did
hit the ground running. We landed, safe
and mostly sound, the evening of Tuesday, January 21st. We then went to our sending church that
Wednesday and presented the ministry on Sunday, and the following
Wednesday. Two of our dear friends (more
like family!) from Québec flew in and spent 2 weeks with us. Our valley mission’s conference technically
kicked off on February 8th, which had us involved in 15 events
and/or church services in the space of 16 days.
In the middle of which was our Titus’ 11th birthday. Whew.
As crazy and
busy as this sounds, it really was. And
as amazing and full of blessings as it sounds, it really was. We have had a fantastic time re-connecting
with family and prayer and financial supporters, as well as meeting some new
ones. Though we must admit that each
time we share pictures and talk about the ministry, we get more and more home
sick!
Meanwhile, back in the DR Congo…
The two
other IBBC professors, Papa Muna and Papa Excellent, started another round of
mobile classes. This is their first
cycle without Sparky, and the first time alone on the IBBC motorcycle. They have now finished in Dibaya-Lubwe and
started in Idiofa this week. At the end
of that session, they will spend a few weeks back in Dibaya before the
month-long trip to teach in Ilebo and Mweka.
They appreciate all your prayers for health, safety, and traveling
mercies, as well as prayers for their families staying behind in Dibaya. Please also pray for the truth of God’s Word
to be proclaimed boldly, and received willingly.
Our local
church there in Dibaya seems to be doing well.
We have gotten word that attendance has not dropped, the preaching has
continued, and the building project is still on track. Please remember to pray for the church
leaders to stay unified and faithful during our absence. We know that Satan will take advantage of any
and all opportunities to hinder the amazing work that God is doing there. May he (Satan) fail miserably!
Support
Being back in the States this last month, we’ve gotten lots of questions
about our support level. First, and
above all, we need prayer support! We
are completely aware of the need of your prayers for us and the ministry, and
we can never have too much! On the
financial side, we just found out that one of our first and very faithful
monthly supporters recently passed away.
We also have many things coming up that will require one-time
gifts. Please pray with us about these
things as the Lord sees fit to provide.
Looking Ahead
Please
remember that our ministry and family schedule can be found on this blog
site! We will make every effort to keep
it updated.
