Where to start?!?!

So much has happened in the last 30 days…it’s hard to know where to start. We’ll try and get it all in. First, thank you again for all your prayers on our behalf!

“Home”

We started off July by returning back to Idaho for a week and a half, after spending a month in Montana. Myndii’s brother (Ben) and his son (Reece) were able to come for a visit, and everyone had a great time together, especially the cousins.

Martha was off to her first-ever week of camp. It’s still hard for mom and dad to believe she’s old enough! She had a great time, and was not really ready for it to be over. :o) While Martha was gone, the rest of the family was busy getting things ready for the next trip and for Canada.

On the Road again…to E. Idaho and Utah

The next trip took us to Eastern Idaho where we were blessed to share at 2 churches (in Shelley and Pocatello), and spend some time in Idaho Falls with Pastor and Mrs. Lovegrove.

Then we were off to Utah. We were scheduled to speak at Camp Utibaca for the end of Jr. High, and beginning of Sr. High Camps. We had an amazing time with both groups of kids, and the camp staff. It was a true blessing to participate! We are also happy to report several salvation and re-dedication decisions.

We had a bit of an adventure getting to and from Camp Utibaca. One of our tires completely exploded and shredded to pieces on our way to the camp. We praise the Lord for His perfect timing as it happened on a quiet 2-lane highway instead of in rush-hour Salt Lake City traffic (which we had just left)! We planned on getting a new tire the following week before heading back to Idaho. On our way down to Santaquin, to speak at the service on Sunday, another tire’s tread started to separate. Having already used our spare tire on the first incident, and it being Sunday when all the tire shops in the area were closed, we limped our poor vehicle all the way to the Bardon’s home. We are thankful there was a place to buy tires there in Santaquin!

This is the first car trouble of any kind we have during our deputation. Praise God with us for His protection during all our travels, including this event.

Salem

After getting back from Utah, we spent a few days in Idaho and left for Salem, Oregon. We were so excited to get to share our ministry at Faith Baptist, where we were members when we were first married. We also got to spend some time with good friends, and some of Myndii's family. It was great to spend this time with everyone before heading off...

Congo Pick-up

Somehow, Sparky has managed to spend quite a bit of time on the Pick-up that we will be shipping to Congo. He has re-built the transfer case, rear-end, and engine; replaced many of the factory parts with heavy duty and off-road parts; modified some things to make them more durable; and more! Our prayer is that God will bless these efforts, and we will be taking a reliable, sturdy, hard-working vehicle to Congo.

Moving

It is impossible to accurately describe the process of moving to a new house and to 2 foreign countries all at the same time. At least we can’t say we’re bored! In between our travels, we have endeavored to pack all our things we are taking to Canada, while gathering and sorting things for Congo, and working around the boxes still unpacked from the move. At this moment we have less than 1 week before we leave for Canada, and we are far from finished. Many things will have to wait until we come back during Christmas break. Please pray with us for endurance, patience, and the peace to let things go undone!

Commissioning Service

What a true blessing to be sent! On August 1st, our church officially commissioned us as missionaries to Congo. They have been behind us since the very beginning, but it was a time of official dedication and sharing. There were several pastors (including Myndii’s dad) that spoke and prayed. We were pleasantly surprised by several that made long trips to be there. THANK YOU to all that were able to come and support us on this special day. Also, THANK YOU to all that were not able to attend, but were with us in thoughts and prayers!

Looking Ahead

This section will look a bit different from now on. We have been giving you a schedule of our speaking engagements, trips, and ministry opportunities. Our ministry is now changing. We still want to keep you updated on our schedule…so please keep in prayer over the things going on. :)
