This month starts our official full-time ministry! We begin with several churches in Western Montana. The Lord has provided a very full schedule for the month of June, and we are so excited to fellowship with these churches. We will then spend a week and a half in Idaho the beginning of July, and back on the road for 3 weeks.
We just finished up our “first leg” of this journey with a missions conference at Faith Baptist Church in Missoula. We had a wonderful time fellowshipping with this church and made some friendships that are sure to last a very long time.
One of the churches has very graciously offered us a “missionary house” for the month of June. This is an amazing blessing!!! We were unsure of housing availability, and were planning to take our tent, just in case. This means we will not have to use our tent (unless we want to for fun), AND we will not have to move from house-to-house as we share at different churches. One more blessing: the missionary house is very centrally located for our scheduled meetings. The furthest drive will be about 2 hours, but the majority of the churches are between 15 and 45 minutes.
We have been in touch with Mike and Melanie Webster, the couple we will be working with in Canada. Our applications for “Laval University” in Quebec had to be filled out and turned in by June 1st. Now we are waiting for our acceptance letter. Once we get it, we will apply for our CAQ (a special Visa for Quebec). After all that, we will apply for our Canadian Student Visas. The Canadian Consulate recommends 4 months for the Visa process; we have about 2 ½ months (and don’t have the acceptance letter from the school yet). We know God can move this along at His exact timing; please continue to pray!
The address is still the same; however, we have made some changes. There are now tabs at the top of the page. Clicking on “Home” will take you back to this prayer letter page. “Calendar” is the new location for our ministry schedule. “Praises and Prayer Requests” will be updated as things come up.
There is now also a tab called “Packing List” which is an updated list of what we would like to have packed and ready to go to Congo with our container. As with the last list we published, lack of any items on this list will not prevent us from leaving for Congo. However, we will be quite thankful for any of these things the Lord sees fit to provide.
We are completely convinced in the power of prayer. Each of our children are very unique and have specific things in their lives that need prayer. In the next few months, we would like each of our three children to be supported by at least 10 prayer partners each (individuals, families, Sunday school classes, youth groups, churches, etc.) We will be putting together separate prayer list for each of them that will only go out to their specific prayer partners. We hope to e-mail out updates, and more specific prayer needs to their prayer partners every 2-3 months. If you would like to commit to faithfully praying for one of our children on a long-term basis, please let us know!
After having the house for sale for almost 1 year, we prayed about the possibility of keeping the house and renting it while we are on the field. A gentleman at our church offered to manage the property for us and listed our house as a rental on a Friday evening. By Saturday at 8:00 am the house was rented, and we had first and last month’s rent in hand.
Just as we were getting used to the idea of keeping the house and settling in as “land lords,” the renters are seriously considering buying the house. Please keep this matter in prayer as we are looking for the Lord’s direction.
