Looking Ahead

Normally, this is the last section in the prayer letter…however, there are some really amazing things happening that are front-page news worthy.

We are moving! FREE housing has been provided for us in Caldwell, Idaho not far from our current home in Notus. (Thanks to Sparky’s parents.) We intend to be completely moved by the first of May. This will leave the house here ready for God’s plan for it, whatever that may be.

We are now praying about the option of renting this house out. This is partially because of the condition of the real estate market; however, the main reason is because we know God could easily have sold it, if it were His will. He doesn’t seem to be opening that door, at this point. So, after much prayer and a huge leap of faith, we are exploring the possibility that God does not want us to sell, but keep the house and rent it. We are aware that God is also capable of giving us a wonderful renter. If you look back, from the very beginning we have asked for prayer “For the Lord’s provision and clear leading in our housing situation.” Please continue to pray for this! Renting, especially from another continent, is a bit daunting to us. Therefore, we also ask for prayer for peace!

Full-time Deputation is just around the corner. We have been praying about the timing of this, and God seems to be “kicking us out of the nest.” We have a mission’s conference scheduled for the Memorial Day Weekend, the end of May, in Missoula, Montana. It looks like the Lord will be providing us a full enough schedule to warrant us staying in that area for at least a month, maybe two. We will then start praying about scheduling meetings in a clock-wise pattern around Idaho: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, etc.

Will the Lord have us to Congo in 2011? This is a very real possibility! The Bible Institute is getting closer and closer to the time when everything will just be waiting on our arrival. Dan Grings has been making “work trips” to the property, and things are moving along. He is hoping to get our first classroom done while up there this time. However, class instruction will not be able to start until we arrive. We still have a list of men waiting, willing, and ready to be trained.

Will you pray earnestly about this with us?!?

Visit from the Ward Family

We were so excited to have Lee, Becky, Orlic, and Paul come back to our area for a “mini-furlough.”

Orlic had a checkup on his leg at the hospital in Salt Lake City (where they did the surgery for his bone infection last spring). Praise the Lord, there are no signs of infection, and he was given a clean bill of health!

We had a great time visiting with them, even though it makes us want to be to Congo even more. Please pray for their trip back to Congo, as they will be leaving here on April 9th.

Preparing For Rain

The illustration is of two farmers. Both pray for the Lord to send rain each morning. But, only one goes out to plow and plant his fields. Which one has faith? It is obvious that the one that prepares for the rain has the faith that God will send it.

Many of you have been praying with us for the Lord to provide quickly, so we can do what God has called us to do in Congo. We have been preparing together, in anticipation for the Lord to do His work. Thank you for having the faith to plow alongside us.

Are you looking up? I’m sure I just felt a drop…
