Treasure Valley (Idaho)
Mission’s Conference

We “kicked off” our deputation ministry one year ago at the mission’s conference in our local area. We were encouraged and so well received…what a way to start this journey!

We have been extremely blessed once again by the churches in our area, as we have been able to participate in this year’s conference as well.

We have the unique blessing of having a wonderful sending church in Notus; and a sending group of churches in our valley! We have been amazed at how supportive these local churches have been.

Thank you for your Prayers!

God has done (and is continuing) an amazing work in our family this last month.

We told you last month about Sparky’s grandfather’s unexpected passing and of Sparky’s uncle, Kelly, who was in Haiti the time of the big earthquake. Uncle Kelly has shown amazing faith and trust in our sovereign Lord through this ordeal. He has been communicating with the mission agency he was ministering with, and is already planning a return short-term trip to Haiti as soon as the Lord allows. Many have been truly blessed through his testimony!

Praise the Lord; there are some family members that have become much more open to the Gospel during this time, and we pray God will continue to draw them to Himself.

Support

Praise the Lord!!! We are now at 37% of our support goal with 10 individual/family supporters and 10 supporting churches. We also have many giving one-time gifts that are going to our “Outfit and Passage,” as well as other specific projects/needs.

We often include our current support levels in this prayer letter, so you can praise the Lord with us, and know more specifically how to pray. However, we update our website map to keep it current with our support levels, so it is the most up-to-date information.

The progress map and support information is found on the right side of this webpage, about half-way down.

Duplicate Mailing

First, if you are not on our “snail mail” prayer letter list, we invite you to join! Our e-mail prayer letter goes out, Lord willing, the first Friday of each month. Our mailed out prayer letter, Lord willing, will be mailed out quarterly. These letters contain information and messages from IFM and pictures and a prayer update from us. It would be great to have you apart of both mailings. 

If you already are on our list, you may have noticed something odd with this last mailing. Many people got duplicates, with incorrect names. Something happened with the printing process at IFM. We apologize for this “snafu” and if you didn’t receive one this last month, please let us know and we will get you a copy.

Beware of “Ministry” Scams

It is sad, but true, that there are those who take advantage of other’s generosity and compassion. Unfortunately, this deceptive spirit has not overlooked God’s ministries. We have heard of several situations recently where scammers impersonate a missionary and try to get money sent for some sort of emergency situation. Supporters of any ministry should be aware and alert for any scams.

Please be cautious of where and how money is to be sent. If a missionary/ministry is asking for immediate financial assistance due to some kind of emergency, it is best to contact the mission agency or sending church directly. If it is a legitimate need, they will be aware of the situation and have a plan in place to deal with that need. Be very wary of wiring money overseas or being asked to give money without going through the proper ministry channels.

Remember that many missionaries, including ourselves, have ministry and personal information on websites. We do this so you can be involved in the ministry and keep current with events, praises, and prayer needs. Even if the person contacting seems to have correct and/or detailed information, it still may not be genuine.

If you ever have any questions about our financial needs, where our support goes, how it is being used, or any other concerns, please feel free to contact IFM and speak with the financial director, Kevin Kurtz, at (336) 292-1255.
