One Year with IFM

2008-2009

It was one year ago, November 14th, 2008, that we officially joined the IFM family. So much has happened since then! Here are some of the highlights of this last year:

Dec-Jan—Sparky and Myndii went to the Democratic Republic of Congo
Many churches and individuals gave sacrificially and miraculously
to see that we take this short-term trip. Thank you again to all that
participated. We can’t wait to get back!

February—Our first mission’s conference…as missionaries.

March—Our son Titus accepted Christ as his savior!

April—The Lord provided us a French tutor.

May—Paul Ward (son of co-workers in Congo) came to stay with us while
his brother Orlic had leg surgery. Orlic Ward’s surgery was a great
success. Bob Grings (the eldest in our ministry team) suffered
from several strokes; praise the Lord he recovered and was able to
return to Congo in late summer.

June—Our house went on the market, with lots of help from others to get
it ready. We participated in Kuna’s VBS program

Churches we have visited are marked with a white marker; consistent financially supporting churches are marked with a Congo flag.
We have monthly financial supporting individuals/families from Idaho, Washington, and the Philippines.

July—Many miles were added to our van as we were in Churches in
Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming, and Utah. We were able to catch up
with several members of the Grings family, and met with Caleb
Schaaf, while in Utah.

August—We got to be a part of 3 VBS programs (Notus, Columbia
Heights, and Roswell Baptist Churches). God, through miracles
and His people, provided for several of our Outfit and Passage
needs and several wants.

September—Mission’s conference in Northern Idaho and E. Washington.

October—Mission’s conference in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

November—Mission’s conference in central Utah.

In between all of these amazing things, we had the privilege of sharing in 46 church services with a total of just under 2,500 people. We have stayed with some amazingly gracious hosts and hostesses in 6 different states. Our prayer letter list, and list of committed prayer supporters, continues to grow at an amazing pace.

THANK YOU for helping make this year an amazing one!

We joyfully look to the future as we are excited to see what God has in store for the next year.

Support

Praise the Lord with us! We have some new ministry partners; a total of 7 churches and 8 individual/family financial supporters put us at 30% of our monthly support goal. That means we are right on the heels of 1/3 of the way there!!!

Looking Ahead

December 5th-6th Marysvale, Utah (We are excited to have our Pastor and
his wife joining us for this trip.)

So far, it looks like the rest of December will be spent at “home.” The kids will be involved in our church’s Christmas program, and there are always lots of family celebrations to attend.

Merry Christmas!

We pray that each of you spends this season remembering the true reason for this season. Our Lord and Savior humbled himself and came to earth as a mere babe, all for one purpose: to give mankind (you and me) a chance at an eternal relationship with an almighty God.

In His Loving Care,
