Our Latest Travels
We took off on September 18th for our first mission’s conference “away from home.” We were extremely blessed to have this time, getting to share our burden for Congo, and fellowshipping with the people there.
We stayed with several families, and each were so wonderful…we were quite spoiled! The churches spoiled us as well with warm welcomes, encouragement, gifts, and promise of prayer support.
We spoke at Valley Baptist, Priest River, ID; Emmanuel Baptist, Lewiston, ID; First Baptist of Clarkston, WA; and Opportunity Baptist, Spokane Valley, WA.
After our time in Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, we were off to Missoula, Montana. (We did get to spend time with some of Myndii’s extended family that lives in that area, an added blessing.)
On Sunday, we were privileged to share at Faith Baptist, Missoula. They allowed us the majority of the time in each of their three services, so they got to see LOTS of pictures. We had such a wonderful time fellowshipping with them, and they spoiled us as well. The church invited us to come back this next May for their mission’s conference, and we were grateful to accept.
The kids did wonderfully! They were in the car for about 30 hours in the space of 10 days, and we all survived. We did stop and sight-see a bit; among the stops were the Nez Perce National Historical Site and the Cataldo Mission. The kids are still enjoying history, and we are glad to encourage that!
The House
We put our house on the market in June. Until this month, no one had even come to look at it. However, God started moving, and it has now been shown several times. There seems to be a few families showing interest, but we haven’t received any offers…yet. We are confident that God is in control of all things, and the right buyer will come in His time.
In Congo
Dan Grings (fellow missionary), Caleb Schaff (short term missionary), and Pastor Osee (national pastor and future Bible Institute professor) left Kinshasa last week, heading for Dibaya-Lubwe. They will be doing some preparations on the Bible Institute property and buildings while there. Please pray for their safety, traveling mercies, and productivity.
Support
In September, we were excited to partner with some new monthly financial supporters. We now have 5 churches and 7 individual/family supporters. Praise the Lord, we are now just over 24% of our monthly support goal.
Prayer support partners are being added consistently. We are so blessed to have so many of you praying for us!
Looking Ahead
Please remember that our entire ministry schedule is at the bottom of this page.
October
17th AWANA conference in Baker City, OR
(This conference is for AWANA leaders/workers in area churches in and around Baker City. Sparky will be providing two seminars throughout the day. One will be our mission’s presentation; the other is entitled “Leaving a Legacy.”)
25th Roswell Baptist Church in Roswell, ID
Right now, you might think October is looking a bit “empty.” The last time God provided a break like this was in June. We were grateful for that time, and used it to get the house ready to put on the market, and for Sparky to catch up on his College work. We are confident that God has a reason for this slower time, and will be praying for wisdom in how to use this time wisely.
November is shaping up to be another busy month with a mission’s conference in Southern Utah. Also, Myndii has been invited to speak at a ladies event in Nampa, ID on November 8th.
***P.S. Since this letter was written, our October schedule has changed. Please refer to the calendar at the bottom of this page for updated information.***
