One Year, Already?!?

As I typed in the Volume # for this month’s letter, I noticed that I was typing in the number 12…has it really been nearly a year since we started this prayer letter? Time flies when you’re having fun! Thank you again for all of your prayers and support for this adventure God has called us to!

You will notice that our heading, and some other things, have changed. This is because we ended up getting another computer this month, and the new one doesn’t have the same font choices. (And, we’re on a bit of a learning curve.) Last month we shared that our old one was dying, and it finally gave up. We got some excellent advice from several of you (thanks again!) and, the Lord provided a very nice computer; for that we are extremely grateful.

Our Ministry Team

So much is happening with our ministry team right now. Please keep everyone in prayer, and we will try and keep you updated.

The Pastors in Congo are always in need of much prayer support. With all the missionaries gone, there is a lot of pressure on the men that are trying to stand firm.

The Grings’ girl’s wedding went well, even through some interesting “curve balls” that were thrown in. Now Dan and Christine, with 3 of their kidos will be traveling around the US giving churches updates, and talking about the Bible Institute. They plan on returning to Congo in August.

Bob Grings is remarkably recovering; far from his previous condition, but better than expected. He is still on some medications, and the doctors are keeping a close eye on him. Please continue to pray for God’s will in whether or not he will return to Congo.

The Ward’s are now ¼ in Congo. Lee left June 25th and is now back in Kinshasa (and was back to work at the Embassy on Monday the 28th). The rest of the family is still here in the states, and will also be traveling a lot in the next few months. Becky and the boys (Orlic and Paul) are hoping to return to Congo in early August. Orlic has at least one more appointment for follow-up on August 6th.

Robert Marsh was here in the states for the wedding, and unfortunately we were unable to see him while he was here. He is now back in South Africa with his wife, Esther, and the kids. They are in need of prayer for direction, and perseverance where God has placed them for the time being.

Housing

Our house is officially for sale…complete with signs in the yard and all. We are still packing many of our things, and we still can’t tell you where we’re going next. However, we are sure of this very thing: God knows! Please continue to pray for His will and direction in all.

Wonderful Helpers

You know who truly loves you when you need help, right? Well, we can tell are well loved! A group of 12 teenagers from Fellowship Baptist (in Meridian, ID) come up with an idea (all on their own) to donate an entire Saturday for hard labor. We had them pulling old fence, digging up stumps, painting, yard work, cleaning, and other odd jobs…all day (I have more pictures that I will put on the website). It wasn’t even the same place when they left. What amazing kids they are!
We have also had several others volunteer time, materials, and more…what a great help and blessing they have been!!! Thank you all, again!

Vacation Bible School

We had a fantastic week of VBS at Kuna Baptist Church the end of June. It was such a blessing for us to get to know them and their kids better. There are at least two other VBSs that we will be involved in this summer. Please pray that the Lord will use this time to further His kingdom and inspire even the youngest children to serve Him with their whole lives!

Looking Ahead

We will be putting a lot of miles on our minivan in the near future. This next Sunday we will be in Salem, Oregon and then back for Sparky to work on Monday. The following weekend we will be driving to Wyoming, and back again. Please continue to pray for traveling mercies, safety, alertness, and patience.

Please also continue to pray for us as we are in communication with churches about potential church meetings.

Remember that our entire schedule is on our website; the calendar is at the bottom of the page…just scroll down to see future months, and click on events to see the details.

Confidently in Him,
