A Month of Miracles!
When God works, He tends to do it in a way that you absolutely can’t miss His hand in it!
Salvation
Our son Titus prayed to accept Christ as his Savior on Saturday, March 14th! He has been struggling with this lately, and we immediately saw the peace the Holy Spirit gave him as he submitted his heart to God. What a true miracle each time His salvation becomes a reality for a lost soul! We hope you all rejoice with us in this eternity-changing event in our family.
French
Last month we asked you to pray for the possibility of us being able to start learning French while on deputation. At the mission's conference we met a man (thank you Eric!) that put us in touch with one of his co-workers...a Christian lady who is an immigrant from France. Eliane came to our house, and has offered to tutor us FREE, 2-3 hours a week! This could possibly take more than a year off the time needed for formal language study in Canada. Please continue to pray for us as we learn from Eliane! (Also, for her patience with us as we try and grasp this difficult new language.)
Friends
The Lord brought the Ward’s safely to America. Through a series of interesting delays, the family of 4 made it to Idaho. Lee and Becky, with their boys Orlic and Paul, will be some of our co-workers in Congo. It was such a blessing to see them and spend time with them again!
They have the unique perspective that only veteran missionaries from Congo can have. They were gracious to give us advice, and prayed with us as we move forward toward the field.
Please pray for this family as they travel to a hospital in Utah; Orlic has a bone infection in his leg that requires more surgery.
Support
Prayer, as always, is the most important way you can support us. We are completely convinced that prayer does matter and we don’t take your prayer support lightly!
We understand that if we look through human eyes, the present economy and political climate can get discouraging. Isn’t this how the Israelites felt when they sent spies into the Promised Land? Most of the spies came back discouraged, and very discouraging to others! We aren’t saying the walls aren’t big, or that there aren’t giants in the land…only that our GOD can have the victory! Commit with us to being Joshua’s and Caleb’s as we look toward God doing amazing things on our path to Congo!
Thank you again for sharing with us in God’s ministry to the Democratic Republic of Congo!
*Thank you Meridian First Baptist Church for supporting us monthly!*
Our Schedule
As you can see in the following section, we are starting to fill our extended schedule. Sparky will continue to work as long as the Lord provides for him to do so, which is why we are trying to stay as close to “home” as possible. However, we are going to start traveling to neighboring states. Please let us know if your church (or another one you know of) would be interested in having us come. You are our best contact for potential church meetings.
