2020 Vision

Are you tired of the “vision” puns yet? (I’m sure this year will be full of them.)  We do pray you had a blessed Christmas and New Year season, remembering the reason we celebrate and giving Him all the praise and glory!

As we look forward into this coming year, we are excited to see all that God is doing.  Here’s a look at what we anticipate:

February  3     Sparky and Myndii leave Idaho
4      Land in Paris and meet up with Mike Webster
                         Arrive in Kinshasa
                5-24 Minister in the DRC
                24    Leave Congo
                25    Arrive back in Idaho
May                Report to some of our supporting churches
25    Martha returns from Cornerstone Choir tour
August            Trip to DRC (prayerfully, the whole family)

February DRC Trip

We are so excited that Mike Webster will be joining us this time! As an added bonus (being a missionary in French-speaking countries for many years) he will be able to teach and communicate without a translator.  Unfortunately, Pastor Jerry Buchanan had some things come up, and will be unable to join us this time; we look forward to him joining us again in the future.

As we finalize the schedule for the February trip, we will get those details out.  At this point it looks like we will be meeting Mike Webster in Paris and will fly together to Congo from there on the 4th.  We plan to spend a few days in Kinshasa letting Mike get used to the climate a bit, gathering supplies, and purchasing Bibles and other materials. We are excited to see the hunger and value people are now placing on recourses; we can’t keep them in stock! Then, we will head out to the interior.  Sparky and Mike plan to team-teach “Local Church Administration”. Sparky will also be dealing with some government issues that have come up. Myndii will be doing Sunday School training, reorganizing and training at the library, and working at the house.  We plan to head back to Kinshasa around the 20th to do some seminars there before heading back to our respective ministries on the 24th.

Family Update

Ruth is doing remarkably well with homeschooling this year.  We have modified the schedule some to comply with her IEP suggestions and have been encouraged with her progress.  She is also still in the Notus Jr High/High School band and is really coming along as a saxophone player. This year, she graduated up into the youth group at church and is enjoying her time with the “big kids”.

Titus finished up his first semester of dual-enrollment classes at CWI, a local community college.  He is keeping up with the classes and took on an extra class this semester, taking him up to 12 credits.  He will continue to take high school Bible class at home. He is still a very out-door kid, enjoying the recent opportunities to go snowmobiling and shooting. He keeps busy as he still works part-time at Jerry’s Repair.

It sure was nice to have Martha home for Christmas break! She is such a blessing and brings such joy, laughter, and music.  She is doing very well at Cornerstone, especially considering her health situation. We are praising the Lord for her seizures being under control! Her neurologist is changing her medication, which will hopefully help with some of the things she’s been struggling with. She has been cleaning house for a couple for a bit of extra spending money, but mostly keeps herself busy with classes, studying, and hanging out with friends.

More Workers

We would like to ask specifically for prayer for co-workers for Papy.  He is feeling overwhelmed with the work at the IBBC Bible Institute.  It is not an easy ministry, requires a lot of travel to the different teaching locations, and really needs someone (or several someones) to come along side and share the load.  This will require God’s specific leading in their lives and creativity in how to support their families. Please pray for this vital addition to the ministry.

Pressing On,

Sparky, Myndii, Martha, Titus, and Ruth Clancy
