Congo
There are so many things to update you on!

The ÉLBC annual conference was the middle of February and was held at the Bible Institute property again, for the second time. (ÉLBC is the group of independent Baptist churches in Congo.) We are so excited because more pastors and church leaders are able to attend with this Bible Institute location in the interior. Praise the Lord, there were 126 in attendance! However, the interior has its own set of issues. The truck with the supplies from Kinshasa (Bibles, literature, song books, food, etc.) was delayed due to a bridge being out; it did not arrive in Dibaya until after the end of the conference. (The materials will be locked in the completed storage building until Dan can make it back up to the Institute.) The team that went up is resourceful, and did what they could without the planned supplies. The Lord answered many prayers for this meeting; please continue to pray for the churches and Christians in Congo! Prayerfully, we will be there to “host” this conference next year!

The Congo presidential election has been changed; the election is now going to be held the 27th of November. (You may be thinking this is an odd bit of information to insert right there, but there is a method behind the madness…)

Dan and Christine Grings are heading back to the U.S. in May for a short furlough. They will be returning to Congo the end of September, and strongly recommend us returning with them at that time. One of the reasons is the new election date. If the Lord allows, it would be much better to already be in the country and start “settling in” before the elections. Also, it would be a tremendous blessing if we can travel with the Grings. We can’t adequately express the joy and excitement in having a prayerful departure date!

Container

Anyone need a reminder that the Lord is good?!? A dearly beloved church gave the remainder of the finances needed to purchase a shipping container! WOW! Praise the Lord!

On the same day, a member of another supporting church called and may be able to get us a better deal on a container through his company. Please continue to pray for wisdom and good stewardship in choosing the container and shipping company!

We were so blessed by all the thoughts, prayers, and “foot work” for this need! We received e-mails and notes from several people looking into possibilities for containers and/or shipping. We are continually thankful to be serving our Lord WITH you!!!!

French

We were told the other day that French will definitely be the language of heaven…
Because it takes an eternity to learn! :)

Packing List

We have updated our packing/supply list on our website. After discussing more with our field team, there are some items they felt we should add. Thank you for your prayers concerning the provision of our necessary supplies!

Picture Update

There are new pictures on our website! Be sure to check them out…

Looking Ahead

Please remember, we keep our current ministry calendar updated on our website at www.theclancychronicles.blogspot.com. Just click on the “Calendar” tab at the top of the page. Also, please remember that these dates are always subject to adjustment according to the Lord’s timing.

To Congo!

Our plan, Lord willing, is to finish up our French language studies in mid-April. We will need some time to wrap things up here in Québec, and should leave here the beginning of May.

We are beginning to schedule meetings for this summer (May-September). We trust the Lord to provide us with contacts and meetings that will be glorifying to Himself and for furthering His ministry in Congo.

In between the meetings, we will continue to prepare for Congo. Please pray for wisdom in prioritizing.

With His peace,
(Jeremiah 29:11)
