IFM Board of Directors
We are thrilled to inform you that on November 14th, 2008 the IFM Board voted unanimously to accept us as full-time missionaries to the Democratic Republic of Congo!
The board members were all very encouraging, and we feel quite blessed at the opportunity to meet them. We are excited to proceed knowing that these great men of God will be praying for us!
We got to spend some wonderful time with the staff at the IFM office. We learned so much, and had a great time of fellowship. It was so nice to put faces to the voices we’ve been talking to on the phone for months. They all do such a wonderful job, allowing the missionaries to focus on the ministries God has called them to. What a blessing to have them working with us!
Thank you again to Mike and Marie Cannon for providing us a room, putting up with us, showing us around historic Winston-Salem, and a great time visiting during our stay in North Carolina! Please pray for their daughter, Kristin Cannon. She was hospitalized during our stay due to seizures. The doctors are trying to figure out the cause and course of treatment.
Survey Trip to DRC Update
Many people have given toward this upcoming survey trip to Africa. Thank you all who have given sacrificially to help see this happen! After gifts and offerings through November 25th, we are now around 34% of our goal of $6000 needed to purchase tickets, visas, and travel expenses.
Myndii’s mother has already purchased her tickets to come watch the children during the 3+ weeks we would be gone.
Last month we shared some of the unique opportunities a trip now would allow us. This included, accompanying Dan Grings to Dibaya to survey the new property, meet with national pastors and church leaders at their biannual meeting in Kinshasa, and gaining personal insight into this mission field. In addition, this trip would allow us to gain more accurate estimates on needed monthly support, outfit and passage expenses, what we will need to do to prepare, etc.
In order for us to make this small window of opportunity, the airline tickets MUST be purchased within the next two weeks and will cost approximately $5000.
Please pray with us that (in His will) God will provide the needed resources to meet this timeline. If the Lord is leading you to share financially in this project, please send gifts to IFM, P.O.
