Welcome to the first issue of
The Clancy Chronicles

This is the first issue of our prayer letter. We are using this letter to introduce our family to you, and to tell you about the ministry opportunity we are praying about.

Sparky and Myndii met in high school and were married in 1998. Sparky attended Western Baptist College (now Corban) for four years until 2000 when he enlisted in the Army Reserves. He spent 16 months active duty for his tour in Iraq from 2004 to 2005. Myndii has been a stay-at-home-mom since Martha was born, but never seems to be “home,” there’s always something to do, and somewhere to be. Sparky and Myndii have served in the local church in many areas such as Sunday School teachers, Youth leaders, and AWANA workers. Sparky has preached at several churches, either without pastors or filling the pulpit during their absence. He also serves on the deacon board at First Baptist Church of Notus, Idaho (our home church).

Martha is our oldest. She turned 7 the beginning of July. She is attending a Christian School in Caldwell, Idaho (about a 20 minute drive from home). She enjoys music and loves to read.

Titus is a boy’s boy. He turned 5 in February. He loves to be outside, getting as dirty as possible, and is a great problem-solver. He enjoys puzzles, mazes, and playing with his puppy, Gilbert. He will be going to Kindergarten this fall.

Ruth is our youngest. She is almost 2 years old, and quite a busy one. She was a bit of a surprise as we got a call from the Health and Welfare that said, “If you’re here in an hour, we have a newborn baby girl for you.” The last two years have been full of ups and downs, and some interesting challenges, but we are so glad God chose to let her be a part of our family. Her adoption was final on May 8th.

Now that you know who we are, we’d like to share with you our burden for the mission field.

Our Possible Ministry Opportunity

We have felt a burden for full-time ministry for nearly 12 years. Four years ago were blessed to meet a family that serves in Kinshasa, Congo (the Grings). We have been praying for the possibility to serve there since. As we have prayed about this and other mission fields, God shut doors. At times we thought He was saying “No” but we realize that He was just saying “Wait.” Looking over the last several years, we can see how God was growing us. He has allowed so many lessons and opportunities to stretch us. We see why He was asking us to wait.

However, we have been challenged recently, and feel that now is the time!

The missionaries in DR Congo have had the opportunity to purchase some ground near Dibaya-Lubwe where they intend to build a Bible Institute to train National pastors and church leaders. We are praying about the possibility of us living there and helping run and teach at this new Institute. We have been in contact with IFM (Independent Faith Mission), the mission agency that the Congolese government will accept missionaries through. We are working with our home church in the process of prayer and continuing to search out God’s will. We are confident that God has called us to full-time missions! We are so excited to see how and when God will lead.

Please pray with us as we start on this journey. We will keep you updated on our process. Thank you so very much for support!

Love in Christ our Lord,
