“… Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,
that he would send forth labourers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2b
Laborers Needed…and Answered Prayer!
One of the
great things about prayer letters is being able to give God the glory for
answered prayers! You have seen our
requests, prayed with us, and then get to rejoice with us in His answers!
For those of
you that have seen our ministry presentation, you know that we are ending it
with a plea for ministry partners. This
last month, the Lord answered in a BIG way! (Another Ephesians 3:20 moment!) A young lady
named Kristina has contacted us, asking about the possibility of coming
to work with us for 6 months. In talking
with her, we are confident in the Lord’s leading and preparation for her to
come serve with us! We feel she will be a huge asset to the ministry in Dibaya,
a help with homeschooling, and will adjust easily to life with our family in
the interior.
Please pray
with us for Kristina as she prepares herself for this big step! She has already purchased her plane ticket to
fly with us back to the DR Congo on August 8th. J
Please also
pray for more laborers! There’s plenty of room for more…
(If you have
any questions regarding this, please contact us!)
Meanwhile, back in the DR Congo…
Communication
back to Congo has been complicating, however we did get to speak with both IBBC
professors (Muna and Excellent), and a few others, this month!
The last
cycle of IBBC classes went well. They
ended up with about the same amount of students, however several switched from
“observing students” to full-program students.
We are so excited to see how the Lord is working in the hearts of these
men who are seeking to know God and His word!
The motorcycle did give some trouble, as the professors had to change
and/or fix somewhere around 15 tire tubes.
We are praying about wisdom in how to alleviate this problem. We may have to purchase new wheels, as this
may be the issue.
On a
personal note: Excellent and Germaine are expecting a baby! Please pray for a healthy and safe pregnancy
and delivery! The couple recently
traveled to Kinshasa; Germaine is planning on staying there until the baby is
delivered,
but Excellent will be traveling back to Dibaya-Lubwe in July (very culturally
acceptable).
Please
continue to pray for the church in Dibaya!
They are still young in their faith, and Satan will be working overtime
to divide and discourage them.
Half way…and on the down-hill slide
We have come
to that moment where we can say we are half way done with our first
furlough. This last month, we had great
meetings and fellowship with several churches, and thank God for the time we
got with each of them. We are truly enjoying
our time here, but are increasingly getting home sick. Please continue to pray with us concerning
our schedule, travel, and presenting the ministry and needs in the DR Congo. Also please pray with us as we start to
gather and prioritize items to take back with us.
Looking Ahead
Please
remember that our ministry and family schedule can be found on this blog
site (click on the "calendar" tab at the top of this page)! We will make every effort to keep
it updated.
